Technical Services Specialist

In this position you will be responsible for providing technical services and project management for specialized area key to STERIS Pharmaceutical and Research business. Provide information, expertise and support to pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers and sales organization on product technology and application in support of business objectives.

Other responsibilities include serving as company expert in product technology and product application for a specialized area key to the Life Science Chemistries business as well as providing technical services and project management for key customer accounts in the area. Provides needed technical information and expertise through telephone support, written correspondence, literature generation, laboratory analyses and direct field support to Life Science Chemistries customers. Oversees/coordinates/supervises technical and/or laboratory activities for specialized area, as required, directed toward the solution of complex customer needs driven projects. Serves as liaison with R&D groups responsible for Life Science Chemistries and technical support. Increases sales force effectiveness by administering local customer and professional education programs and by working with customers and sales representatives on product applications, correct use of product and providing background information and analytical support.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a B.S. degree in the applicable scientific discipline (engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering). At lease 1-5 years of related experience or a Master degree with at least 1-3 years of related experience. Requires a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, and strong analytical skills. Process Cleaning, Process Engineering, CIP Systems and Cleaning Validation experience desirable. Requires strong customer and service orientation and excellent organizational skills. May supervise one or more technical service employees or technicians directly or on a project basis.

On-site field visits may involve work in chemical/pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing facilities.
